Present perfect
Tom is looking for his key.He can`t find it. He has lost his keys.
have/has+the third conjugation of a verb{this is present perfect tense}
Ex: Where is Sue? I don`t know . She has gone to the market.
My father has just arrived home.
I have already bought a new computer.
- We use this tense to express actions that ended a short time ago.
- We can use this tense with the following words{ just- already- ever-never-yet}
- We use yet in at the end of questions and negative sentences
- We use this tense to express actions that ended and have an effects now
Ex: Ann can`t walk now.she has a broken leg
we use ever in questions and in some sentences to express past experiences
Ex: I have just arrived home{ means I arrived a short time ago
He has never seen this scene.
I haven`t finished my work yet.
Has your uncle sold his old car yet?
I have never been to Paris.
This is the most interesting story I have ever read.
has/ have been to+ place{means went to it and returned}
has/have gone to+ place{means went to it and still there}
Ex: I have been to London three times this year
where is Sue? She has gone to the supermarket
Tom has gone out . He will return after half an hour
