Present Continuous[ I am doing]

study this example
Ann is in her car. She is on her way to work
She is driving to work
This means : She is driving now, at the time of speaking.
the action is not finished
we form this tense by
I+am+verb+ing I am writing the report now
He or she or it +is+ verb+ing He is watching TV at the moment
we or you or they+are+verb+ing They are shopping at present
I am doing something means I am in the middle of doing it and not finished yet
Examples:
1-Please don`t make noise I am working
2-Where is Sue? She is having lunch[ this means that Sue is going on eating]
3-I am tired I am going to bed now.

But the action is not necessary happening at the time of speaking for example
Tom and Ann are in a cafe
TOM: what are you doing these days?
Ann: I am preparing a report for my boss. he asked me to finish it within 3 days
Tom: That`s why i couldn't`t chat with last night
Ann : Yes, I will finish the report this evening so we will chat tonight
More examples
Susy wants to work in Italy so she is studying Italian [ this means that Sue is still studying and will go on studying]
Note : We also can use this tense to express an action which will happen in a certain point of time in the future
Ex: I am chatting with Sue at 17.00 [ this means that I have an appointment with her
